In “Departures,” part of Luis R.R. Siqueira’s Impermanence series, a moment unfolds in quiet urgency. A family pushes forward across the wet city pavement—suitcases in tow, stroller rolling, heads down. Each figure is in motion, blurred just enough to feel transient, weightless, already halfway to somewhere else.

Shot in black and white outside what could be a station or hotel, the image captures not a specific journey, but the essence of all journeys. The blur of columns and rain-slicked pavement evokes that strange emotional texture of departure—where anticipation, fatigue, and movement coalesce into abstraction. One figure turns to glance back, already fading into the soft fog of memory.
